La compagnie Bouvet fut fondée en France par M. Gustave Bouvet en 1884. Ce dernier a su implanter une grande tradition de quincaillerie décorative faite à la main pour l’ameublement et le bâtiment. Dans la majorité des cas, les modèles d’origine existent toujours.

C’est en 1978 que « métal style bouvet » fut créée au Canada pour promouvoir la distribution des produits de ferronnerie de style français, tout en les adaptant aux conditions nord-américaines.

La majorité de ces produits sont, encore aujourd’hui, forgés ou découpés pour représenter le design traditionnel français.

The company Bouvet was founded in France by Mr. Gustave Bouvet in 1884. He established a long tradition of hand-made ornamental hardware for furniture, doors and windows, and as of today, most of the original models still exist.

In 1978, « métal style bouvet » was created in Canada to spread out that kind of ironwork French style product, while adapting it to North American standards.

Even now, most of these ironwork products are forged or cut to preserve that French traditional design.
